Butt Busting Brownies

This is a Butt Busting Brownie that Dr Oz introduced and it is amazing, this no-bake brownie is not your typical dessert. The cayenne revs up your metabolism to get your body moving and the cinnamon helps process sugar intake, which helps keep fat from being absorbed into your bottom.

Ingredients
1 cup raw cacao powder
1/4 tsp cayenne
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup low fat milk
1 cup organic raisins
1 cup oats

Directions
In a food processor purée the cacao, cayenne, cinnamon, milk and raisins until a smooth paste forms. Add the oats to the food processor and quickly pulse to incorporate them. Transfer the mix into a square or rectangular container lined cross wise with wax paper. Press down to form the ‘brownie' base. Refrigerate until firm. Cut into squares before serving.

Points to Note
Don't use a blender (too hard to get the dough out). Use a small cookie dough scooper and drop balls of the dough into powdered cocoa, then roll them in your palms to make a tighter ball = butt-busting truffles. Then finally, to clean the food processor/blender, add a cup or so of milk and blend until the leavings are incorporated into a drink, then drink your first truffle. Much easier to wash the food processor/blender.

Ayurveda Diet

Ayurveda Diet

The Ayurveda diet is based on the Ayurveda medicine, the science of life which balances your mind, body and spirit.

Ayurveda is the traditional medical system of India and the oldest surviving healing system in the world (about 5,000 years old). “Ayu” means life and “veda” means knowledge, so ayurveda is the science of life. It is based on 3 fundamental concepts:

1. Food is medicine.

2. Disease can be prevented and eradicated through your daily habits.

3. Lifestyle recommendations are based on an individual’s physical, mental and emotional makeup.

Ayurveda is based on natural remedies that promote longevity, beauty and vitality.

Ayurveda is the most effective holistic approach to heal your mind and body.
The following are 4 common ayurvedic components and practices.
Curry Powder

There is no reason that eating healthy cannot be delicious, and that is the magic of curry powder. It is packed with spices that fight disease and serve as antioxidants. Ayurveda recognizes 6 tastes—sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent and astringent. The American diet often has plenty of the first 3 – sweet, sour and salty – but is often missing the last three. Because curry satisfies all 6 tastes, it helps you eat less at each meal.

Cumin and coriander in particular help with digestion. Conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, bloating, gas and abdominal cramps can be remedied with regular use of these two spices.

The real “superstar” of curry powder is turmeric. It is a potent antioxidant, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory that has been studied in relation to several conditions including cancer, wound healing, arthritis and Alzheimer’s disease. You can use turmeric in curry powder or get it in tablet form to increase your consumption.

Holy Basil

Holy basil, or tulsi, is considered one of the most important herbs in ayurveda. It is used for many different conditions, but its ability to fight stress has led modern herbalists to label it as an adaptogen. Adaptogens are a class of herbs that help the body fight stress by reducing the production of stress hormones that result in the fight-or-flight response.

Sandalwood

A sandalwood face mask will give your face an instant lift, the natural way. Sandalwood detoxifies the skin by removing impurities directly as it dries on the skin. It also removes toxins by increasing circulation in the skin, leaving it glowing and feeling tighter. Sandalwood also has an alluring fragrance.

To make your own sandalwood face mask, use about 5 teaspoons of sandalwood powder and slowly mix in water until you have a thick paste. If you have a tendency toward acne or rashes, add 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder. If you tend to have very dry skin, you can add some castor or almond oil to the paste. You can apply the mask for 1 hour on a weekly basis for regular skin care or leave it on overnight every few months for a deep skin cleansing.

Daily Oil Massage (Abhyanga)

We tend to think of only getting massages from a therapist on special occasions. But you can treat yourself as often as you want to a warm oil massage in your own bathroom. This daily oil massage has several benefits including reducing stress, keeping skin youthful, and improving immunity. You and your partner can also do this massage on each other on the weekends to create an easy, affordable, and health-promoting romantic experience.

For the majority of people, the best oil to use is organic, cured sesame oil. But if you produce a lot of body heat, tend to get rashes easily, or are susceptible to inflammatory conditions, then organic coconut oil may be a better choice.

3 Tests Woman Should Take

There are 3 tests every woman should take and they are available through your doctor or pharmacist. These tests detect and fight diseases and improve your health and may even saving your life.

Test 1: A Comprehensive Weight and Fat Assessment
A comprehensive weight and fat assessment is more than just standing on a scale and counting the pounds. This seven-in-one test gives you insight into your overall health by measuring the following: Body Weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), Body Fat Percentage, Body Age, Resting Metabolism, Visceral Fat, and an important measurement that may be new to you, Skeletal Muscle. And while you may assume men are more concerned about muscle mass, knowing your percentage of skeletal muscle is just as crucial for women. In fact, skeletal muscle is the secret key to your body’s ability to burn fat over the long term and lose weight. Your doctor can tell you your ideal percentage based on a variety of factors, but generally women should shoot for close to 30%, while men should be closer to 35%. If your percentage is too low, it’s time to ramp up your muscle mass.

There are two great ways to build muscle for men and women. First, eat more eggs. One egg contains about 10% of your daily protein requirements – vital for building muscle – and is loaded with vitamins A, D and B12, as well as lutein and zeaxanthin. While most people think eggs are high in cholesterol, the amount contained in the yolk is actually negligible. To build even more muscle, add a creatine supplement to your daily shakes and smoothies. Consuming 2 grams of creatine a day while exercising provides your muscles with more energy, allowing them to grow as they’re pushed to work harder and longer. Put simply, the more muscle you have, the more calories your body will burn.

  Test 2: Blood Pressure
Heart disease is the number-one killer of women, yet when it comes to blood pressure – a major contributor to heart disease – so many people continue to go unchecked and undiagnosed. Healthy arteries are vital for transporting blood through your heart and to the rest of your body.

Above-normal pressure puts too much force on your arteries, and can lead to arterial damage, including weakening, scarring, risk of plaque build-up and blood clots, and overall coronary artery disease. High blood pressure is associated with the development of life-threatening conditions such as stroke, kidney failure, and type 2 diabetes. An ideal blood pressure reading should be 115/75; anything over 140/90 is considered hypertension, while prehypertension is any reading in between.

Medicinal and all-natural options exist to lower your blood pressure. Try taking Coenzyme Q10, also known as CoQ10 or ubiquinone. It’s an over-the-counter supplement that helps maintain healthy blood vessels. Taking 200 mg per day has been demonstrated in studies to help reduce blood pressure. You should also add more garlic to your diet. Eating at least 1 clove a day may lower your blood pressure and slow the hardening of the arteries.

Test 3: Blood Test for Glucose and Cholesterol
This painless, finger-prick blood test measures both your blood sugar levels and cholesterol. The best part? You don’t have to fast beforehand!

If you haven’t eaten within a couple hours, your blood sugar levels should be between 70 and 100. A measure of 100-125 is considered prediabetic, and 126 means you’ve got diabetes. If you’ve eaten recently and your blood sugar level reads above 200, it also places you among the 80 million Americans living with diabetes. And as the sugar builds up in your body due to insulin resistance, it acts like shards of glass, scraping away at the walls of your arteries, leaving them severely weakened.

Walgreens have some special buses that will take these tests for you please check out the Walgreens Way toWell website, These free health tests include: total cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body mass index, body composition, skeletal muscle, resting metabolism, visceral fat, real body age and body weight

Supplements to Help Reduce Belly Fat

The older we get our metabolism slows down and we tend to eat the same portion sizes as we did when we were more active so stress-induced eating can be your dietary downfall, there are ways to thwart a ballooning belly.

Here are 4 different supplements recommended by Dr. Oz, but each supplement targets different areas, so choose the biggest area you have a problem and try that supplement. 7-KETO speeds up metabolism, FORSKOLIN to burn Fat, RELORA is for stress which cause the release of cortisol the hormone that stores fat....last but not least CARAWAY seeds helps excessive bloating. Check out more information about these products below:

Supplement to Boost Your Metabolism: 7-Keto
If your expanding belly is the result of a slowing metabolism, then 7-Keto may be the supplement you need. 7-Keto is a natural byproduct of the DHEA hormone in our own bodies that helps to keep us young. But as we age, the levels of DHEA and its byproduct 7-Keto drop – this begins to happen after you turn 30 – slowing your metabolism and resulting in weight gain. 7-Keto works to counter this by stimulating the thyroid to permanently raise your metabolism’s set point, or your resting metabolic rate, which is based on your body’s amount of fat and muscle. A lower metabolism means more fat, and a higher metabolism means more muscle. Once 7-Keto raises your metabolic set point, your body’s engines can begin burning faster, resulting in less weight gain and a trimmer belly, especially when combined with diet and exercise.

Dose: Take 200mg a day. Take 100 mg in the morning and 100 mg at night – this helps you maintain a steady amount of 7-Keto in your bloodstream throughout the day, keeping your metabolic levels steady.

Supplement to Break Down Fat: Forskolin
Forskolin is found in the roots of an herbal plant from the mint family. Researchers have found that forskolin can help to promote the breakdown of stored fats in animal and human fat cells. It may also release fatty acids from adipose tissue, which results in increased thermogenesis, resulting in loss of body fat and, theoretically, increased lean body mass.

Dose: Take 125 mg in the morning. Be sure to get the right dosing by looking at the label. It must read that it is standardized to 20% forskolin. Anything less will have a reduced impact on fat burning.

Flower and Fruit Combo

800 mg. of ReBody - Meratrim Fruit & Flower Slimming per day, has shown in clinical studies on overweight individuals to reduce weight and waist size starting in 2 weeks. A reduction in hip size was also shown in 8 weeks.

The Breakthrough Fruit & Flower Formula ReBody Meratrim Fruit & Flower Slimming Formula gives overweight people a non-stimulant slimming formula derived from a unique fruit and flower extract blend.

Take 1/2 before breakfast and dinner, that is 400 mg twice a day.

Supplement to Beat Bloating: Caraway Seeds
In many ancient practices, from African to Chinese and ayurvedic medicine, caraway seeds have been recommended to treat gastrointestinal disorders. Rich in vitamins and minerals, caraway seed are a powerful digestive aid that helps eliminate gas, thanks to its carminative properties, which prevent the formation of gas or aid in the expulsion of gas. Bloating occurs when bad bacteria release gas in your intestine. Caraway seeds inhibit the growth of that bad bacteria and allow good bacteria to digest food.

Dose: Eat a handful of seeds after meals to stop gas from causing the bloating that makes your belly expand. You’ll help your digestion and feel much more comfortable – and svelte – after eating.

Supplement to Reduce Stress: Relora
When you’re under stress, your body releases the hormone cortisol, which makes your body store fat around your midsection. If you tend to gain weight when you’re stressed out, this supplement can help you tackle stubborn belly fat. Relora is supplement made from the extracts of two plants used for thousands of years by Chinese herbalists to promote relaxation. Clinical studies have shown that Relora can help mitigate feelings of anxiety. Decreased levels of cortisol can lead to the prevention of weight gain, the loss of excess weight, and the reduction of stress eating.

Dose: Take 250mg of Relora three times a day – or one dose with every meal. Studies have demonstrated this to be the most effective use of this supplement so you receive the maximum benefit.

Saffron Extract
Dr. Oz recommends Saffron Extract to help curb your appetite! The foundation of the saffron study is based on what some refer to as "disturbed dietary behaviors" that include compulsive, uncontrolled snacking. Snacking is significantly affected by mood swings related to stress and has been shown to manifest as a strong preference for high-sugar and high-fat snacks. Stress snacking or "emotional eating" occurs primarily in females and affects a large portion of this population.

Dose: Take 88-90mg two times a day

Belly-Blasting Meals

Breakfast: High-Fiber Cereal
Start your day with a bowl of high-fiber cereal. Insoluble fiber absorbs water and expands to fill you up, so you feel satisfied without over-eating. Add a handful of blueberries for an antioxidant boost – the polyphenols help to block the formation of new fat cells.

Lunch: Add Sauerkraut
Add some extra flavor to your turkey sandwich or simply eat it as a side. Sauerkraut contains good bacteria that enhance digestion and reduces belly inflammation.

Dinner: Make Miso Soup Your Appetizer
Having a bowl of miso soup can help flatten your belly. It’s rich in vitamin B12, which is a power player when it comes to metabolizing fats and carbohydrates. Broth-based soups are a good energy-dense food – which means you’ll get more food for less calories. Leading with soup will fill up your stomach before you dine, so you’re less likely to overindulge on the main course.
You can eat your leftovers for lunch the next day.

This spinach shake should be a staple in your diet plan. High in fiber, it will keep you feeling full for longer.

Summer Supplements and Energy Boosting Drinks

Here are  three crucial supplements that will allow you to enjoy your favorite summer pastimes without having to worry about your health.

To combat the AGEs released while grilling, try taking a L-carnosine supplement. Carnosine, which occurs naturally in our bodies, contains potent antioxidant activity to block the effects of AGEs. Natural carnosine levels, however, have been shown to decrease by 63% between ages 10 and 70. So it’s important to supplement your levels by taking 500 mg of L-carnosine twice per day.

Researchers believe it was due to the lycopene producing procollagen, a molecule which helps protect the skin. The nutrient found in tomatoes, lycopene, can protect your skin from the inside out. In fact, a British study showed that volunteers who ate 5 tablespoons of tomato paste with 10 grams of olive oil a day for 12 weeks were 33% less likely to burn from UV exposure than those who only ate olive oil.  Unless you’re able to eat a lot of tomato-based meals, you should supplement your lycopene intake during the summer months to protect against sun exposure. Try taking 16 mg per day.

Reishi mushrooms have been used in traditional Asian medicine for over 4000 years to treat liver disorders, hypertension, arthritis and other ailments. Modern studies show that they may help boost insulin levels, allowing the body to more efficiently use blood sugar for energy production. Additionally, reishi’s anti-inflammatory properties may neutralize the chemicals that drain your energy. Try taking 1000 mg of reishi mushroom extract, 3 times per day
